The August Virgin

(La Virgen de Agosto) follows Eva, a 32-year-old actress, who decides to stay in Madrid during the stifling, mostly empty month of August, seeking a new beginning as she approaches 33 and her acting career stalls. Wandering through city festivals, museums, and bars, she encounters a series of characters—an old flame, a Reiki practitioner, a musician—leading to introspective, Rohmer-esque conversations and connections, culminating in a tender, unexpected revelation about her own path and potential new life chapter with a fellow lost soul, Agos.
